MODELING
Showcasing models on the pages of a fashion magazine or on a fashion runway, then you are seriously mistaken. The world of modeling is beyond these few more recognized and valued forms.
New Delhi: If you think that modeling is just about showcasing models on the pages of a fashion magazine or on a fashion runway, then you are seriously mistaken. The world of modeling is beyond these few more recognized and valued forms of creative expression. The types of modeling that offer opportunities to models of different age groups, sizes, and possessing varied talents have been categorized under the following broad headings:
1. Catalogue Modeling: Catalogs and brochures are an inevitable part of promotional strategies. Each production house comes up with alluring publishing materials to woo prospective customers. Models are selected and used to enhance the appeal of such advertising.
2. Body Part Modeling: Beauty and skin care products look for models with unmatched qualities in terms of the body organs they are dealing with. So, a face cream manufacturer would like to use a beautiful face, and those advertising hair care products prefer models with bright, shining, long hairs.
3. Fit and Fitness Modeling: A number of products and accessories are used by fitness freeks to keep themselves fit. There are numerous gyms and yoga institutes offering classes on fitness. To advertise products that are used by these institutes and also fitness lovers at their homes, manufacturers keep coming out with publicity materials using models who are fit and possess qualities to push sales up in the market.
4. Swim-wear Modeling: Models with well-toned bodies are required to promote swimwear and undergarments. While on the leading fashion runways, fashion shows are held exclusively to promote swimwear and lingerie, in India, such modeling is restricted to print and television advertisements.
5. Mature Modeling: The use of products is not limited to the young. People across age groups purchase and utilize a number of items. So, advertisers also use people who look mature to send their messages to people aged 45 or older. Across the world, the number of elderly people is growing due to better medical facilities. They constitute a viable customer group. Modeling agencies use a few of them too to advertise products they use.
